PBIS Celebrations

Lakeview students and staff earn “Laker Points” throughout the day when they exemplify or demonstrate respect, safety and readiness to learn. Points are accumulated and tallied/represented via various methods (i.e: bar graphs, earning letters in an acrostic poem, converted to miles traveled to a specific destination) to earn a classroom or school-wide celebration.

Past celebrations have included engaging themes such as “Surf’s Up!” with beachy music, giant bubble wands, parachutes with beach balls, and frisbees;  “Winter Fun Day” with snow pie creations, snowprint tag, hot cocoa, and sun catcher crafts; and “Winter Carnival Week” with daily themes of “Wear Your Laker Shirt Day”, “Future Me Day” (dress up as what you want to be or look like when you grow up), “Pajama Day”, “Sports Day” (favorite team shirt or gear), and “Dress as your Favorite TV or Movie Character Day”.

In May 2023, students participated in Beach Day, a PBIS celebration that they earned by accumulating Laker points for their safe and respectful behavior at school. Students participated in a wide-range of events throughout the day including making sand art, a healthy snack of tropical fruit, beachy stories, hula dancing and other fun activities. Students had a great time pretending they were at the beach on what was a rainy and cool May day!
