About the Hardwick Elementary Music Program

Thoreau said, “In a world of peace and love, music would be the universal language.

The music program at HES introduces instrumental and vocal instruction, music theory, history, careers and musical genres, but most importantly, strives to bring the joy of music to every student. While there is ample evidence that music benefits all aspects of academic growth and brain development, I also want students to appreciate the emotional component of music, and recognize it as a form of expression and communication that can unite people.
